Arc Relay
A downloadable game
Arc Relay is a text game played on the shell or terminal, what's going on in the game is printed at you, and you then type commands back to tell the game what you want to do. This sounds simple but can get a lot more complicated when you factor in the interactivity of the world and the number of different commands available, as well as how they are all able to be used. This game contains mature language and places you into some violent situations. The game includes a world to navigate and explore, sometimes with violence, sometimes with discussion or puzzle solving.
Included are two campaigns, tutorials and an editor. I highly recommend going through the tutorials in order to get a clear feel for how the game plays and how things work, then dive into either of the two campaigns- "arc relay 1" is comprehensive with lots of world building and plot, while "arc relay 2" is shorter but with more excitement.
When starting "arc relay 1", I recommend examining everything in your immediate surroundings to learn as much as possible about the world you're starting out in, then go from there in whatever direction you please. The more people you talk to, the more you'll learn about the world.

Install instructions
All three links contain the same game, except two are platform specific and one isn't, however that one requries Python to be installed.
If playing on MacOS/OSX or Windows, try the appropriate package first, extract to any location then run "arcrelay" within the resulting directory.
If this doesn't work or you aren't on either of these platforms, install Python 3 then try the above steps with the "any-platform scripts" package. Many OS package systems have Python available, otherwise it can be downloaded from the below link.
